An ex girlfriend once surprised me with tickets to see Motörhead.
Which was a surprise, as I’d never expressed a desire to see them.
After the gig, we stayed at a friends in London.
The following morning, at breakfast, when our friend offered me a cup of tea I found I couldn’t hear a word she was saying. In fact, I could barely understand anything for about a week afterwards.
I recently watched a documentary about Lemmy. It was very entertaining, but crikey did it bring back some memories of that night, where my ears would never quite be the same again.
As Lemmy wrote in 1979:
